Enjoy the Winter at Harlem's George Bruce Library

Everything's back in full swing at George Bruce Library at 518 West 125th Street! There's plenty to keep you entertained as the cold weather and winter days start to set in. Enjoy clubs for adults and teens, open play time for children, learn to use the computer, and much more.

George Bruce Library, and all NYPL locations, will be closed on November 24 and 25 for Thanksgiving.

Upcoming Events

• Open play time for children under 3 in the children's room is available from Monday to Saturday! Check hours available every day. 
• In person computer basics lessons for adults are back. Sign up in person or by calling 212-662-9727 to register for the one-on-one sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 12:15 pm, or for the open lab hour on Fridays at 2:00 pm.
• Enjoy Family Storytime on Tuesdays at 12:30 pm.
• Game on! Kids ages 5 and up can play board games on Tuesdays at 4:00 pm, video games on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm, and join the Lego club on Thursdays at 4:00 pm.
• Chess club for adults is on Thursdays at 2:00 pm. Chess club for teens is on Thursdays at 5:00 pm.
• Make sure you're on track for college with College and Career Pathways on Thursdays at 3:00 pm.
• Practice your English with the English Conversation Group on November 29 at 4:00 pm.

• Introducing Teens 360º at the Library: The new initiative offers a holistic support package for teens, including resources for achieving academic success, well-equipped spaces for building skills and developing creative projects, a wide array of materials for learning and exploring extracurricular interests, and mental health support. 
• Back to School with NYPL: The New York Public Library is here to support kids and teens of all ages—plus educators, parents, and caregivers—with free programs and resources in our branches and online.
• Pick up free at-home COVID-19 tests at all NYPL locations.
• Don't forget: NYPL has e-books and e-audiobooks available to borrow without ever leaving the comfort of your home! Just download the SimplyE app to your phone or tablet, log in with your NYPL account, and download books to enjoy.
• Late fees are gone for good. Read up on how book return policies will work going forward.
