George Bruce Library on 125th Street remains closed while important renovations take place, including the installation of a new heating and cooling system, boiler, and fire alarm system. Currently, the library is expected to reopen at the end of September. Until the building reopens, George Bruce Library staff hold virtual and outdoor events, and partner with other area libraries. For book checkouts and in-person resources, patrons are encouraged to visit the Morningside Heights Library on Broadway, the Harlem Library at 9 West 124th Street, and Harry Belafonte 115th Street Library at 203 West 115th Street.
