Renovations Are Complete and Harlem's George Bruce Library Is Open Once More
Welcome back to George Bruce Library with a slew of events and resources.

Renovations are complete at 518 West 125th St. and George Bruce Library is open again! Come by to explore the shelves, get help from the librarians, or join one of the many clubs and activities they're offering this month.
With plenty of online and in-person events for everyone from chess enthusiasts to K-pop fans, there's something for just about everyone this month.
Upcoming Events
- Don't miss the George Bruce Library Open House on October 13 from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. There'll be family storytime, chess club meetings for teens and adults, crocheting, and more!
- Open play time for children under 3 in the children's room is available from Monday to Saturday! Check the hours for every day.
- In person computer basics lessons for adults are back. Sign up in person or by calling 212-662-9727 to register for the one-on-one sessions on Mondays and Fridays at 12:15 pm, or for the open lab hour on Fridays at 2:00 pm.
- On Mondays at 4:00 pm, join the teen lounge to hang out, make friends, and share your suggestions for what the library can do.
- Enjoy Family Storytime in the Garden next to George Bruce Library on Tuesdays at 12:30 pm, weather permitting.
- Game on! Kids ages 5 and up can play board games on Tuesdays at 4:00 pm, video games on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm, and join the Lego club on Thursdays at 4:00 pm.
- Chess club for adults is on Thursdays at 2:00 pm. Chess club for teens is on Thursdays at 5:00 pm.
- Make sure you're on track for college with College and Career Pathways on Thursdays at 3:00 pm.
- Discuss season 6 of My Hero Academia on October 22 at 2:30 pm.
- Join your fellow teens for a rousing discussion at Positively K-Pop: For the Love of Queendom 2 on October 8 at 2:00 pm. Or explore the original soundtracks (OSTs) of dramas and animes at Positively K-Pop: Favorite OSTs on October 18 at 3:00 pm.
- Practice your English with the English Conversation Group on October 18 at 4:00 pm.
- Learn how to use websites like Indeed, craft a cover letter, and more at Job Search Fundamentals on October 19 at 2:00 pm.
- It's spooky season! Explore Junji Ito's horror manga Uzumaki on October 19 at 2:30 pm. Stop by George Bruce or Wakefield library to get a copy and read it first, or just listen to everyone else shiver.
