The flavors and flair of West Harlem’s food scene were on full display at the New York Women's Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Taste of Harlem celebration. On July 3, local entrepreneurs, elected officials, community leaders, and neighbors gathered at the Lee C. Bollinger Forum on Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus for a festive fête that spotlighted the delicious creations of innovators at the forefront of the neighborhood’s culinary renaissance.

During the event—which Columbia University was proud to support through its In-Kind Benefits program—attendees indulged in everything from Japanese-inspired curry ramen dishes from Jin Ramen to sweet Southern-style desserts crafted by the Bronx-based artisanal bakery Chatman J. Cakes. They mixed, mingled, dined, and danced the night away to tunes spun by local DJ The People Plezzer and got printed copies of NYWCC’s Explore West Harlem guide.

From the local partnerships that brought the event to fruition—including collaborations with Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, New York City Council Member Shaun Abreu, Harlem Community Development Corporation President Curtis Archer, the BOC Network, Manhattan Community Board 9, and other partners and sponsors—to the connections fostered during the celebration, Taste of Harlem 2025 was a true reflection of the power of community.
