Construction Update: Weeks of 7/27/26 and 8/3/26

What is Happening

Beginning Monday, July 27, Columbia University will commence work on a temporary open space on Site 4 of the Manhattanville campus, located at the corner of 125th Street and 12th Avenue. Columbia University is pleased to provide this temporary open space for public use. The temporary space will include paved pathways, grass, plantings, and fixed seating, and work is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2026, weather permitting.

Construction activities for the weeks of July 27, 2026 and August 3, 2026 include:

  • Removal of electrical conduits and cables from the existing construction fence.
  • Delivery of temporary toilets for workers and silt fence.
  • Installation of construction barricades at the western gate on West 130th Street.

What to Expect

  • Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Expect noise and other impacts typically associated with construction projects.
