Columbia Launches New Form for Neighbors Who Want Access to Morningside Campus

October 02, 2025

Neighbors, Columbia has heard your questions and seen your requests for access to our Morningside Heights campus. We’re now pleased to announce a new process that will help you access College Walk.

The University’s offices of Government and Community Affairs and Public Safety now have a Campus Access Form that is open for requests from neighbors who live in the area surrounding the Morningside Heights campus and would like access (e.g., to use College Walk for easier access to the subway).

If you live within the following geographical area and would like to request access, please submit the brief form:

  • 135th Street to 103rd Street, Riverside Drive to Convent Avenue/Morningside Drive/Columbus Avenue. Note: The geographical area may change depending on demand and other factors.

Once you submit the form, you will receive additional information on access requirements, including details for arranging to visit Columbia’s campus to provide a copy of your identification. Please note: Campus access to guests may be suspended or revoked at any time if Columbia determines it necessary for campus safety, operations, or special events.

While Columbia Neighbors is pleased to share this new process with you, we are unable to answer questions about the status of your application. Those questions can be directed to [email protected] or [email protected].
