From flea markets to schools to music classes, central gathering spots are closing throughout the neighborhood to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
West Side Rag is maintaining an ongoing list of closures in the neighborhood, including partial closures and places where visitation is limited.
Here are some key closures and updates:
- All New York Public Library branches are closed through March 31.
- New York City public schools are closed as of Monday, March 16 through at least April 20th.
- All of Goddard Riverside’s senior centers and programs remain open and in operation. However, Goddard is postponing public Community Arts performances at the Bernie Wohl Center.
- All Catholic elementary schools within the Archdiocese of New York will close effective Monday, March 16, 2020, until Friday March 20, 2020, with the possibility of a lengthier closure.
- Broadway shows will suspend all shows as of Thursday, March 12, for the next month.
