In the Libraries: Enjoy In-Person and Virtual Events at Hamilton Grange

The Hamilton Grange Library is open to the public for in-person and virtual programming. Check out a partial list of their upcoming and ongoing programming for adults, teens, and children below, or head to their website to see more.

Programs for Adults

  • One-on-one computer classes by appointment with an individual staff member. These sessions are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 12 PM.
  • Group computer classes are open to patrons who want to learn about how to use a computer, the parts of a computer, how to write an email, and more. Classes are held on Mondays at 10 AM on the third floor. Registration is required and currently limited to four people.
  • Grown Ups Read Kids’ Books: This virtual book discussion will take place on March 23. Adults will have an opportunity to explore books that children are currently reading. The book that will be discussed is Esperanza Rising by the 2002 Pura Belpré Award winner Pam Muñoz Ryan. Please visit the event website to register. 

Programs for Children

  • Little Movers Storytime: Children can hear a story and get a little exercise with a librarian. There is a limit of 10 children with their parents/caregivers. Tickets are required and distributed the day of the event.
  • Bilingual Storytime: Children can enjoy stories and rhymes in English and Spanish! There is a limit of 10 children with their parents/caregivers. Tickets are required and distributed the day of the event.
  • NYPL After School: This service is open to the public for children who need homework help after school from expert tutors. Registration is not required. Children can feel free to drop in.

Programs for Teens

  • College and Career Pathways: A programming initiative for teens seeking to apply for a job and/or apply for college. Teens will have access to programs and workshops that focus on topics such as writing resumes, building a college list, financial aid, college applications, etc. Hamilton Grange is a College and Career Pathways hub, meaning patrons can come to this branch if they are interested in dropping in for one of the programs or to become an intensive participant in the initiative. 
  • Women’s History Month Book Discussion: A book discussion in celebration of Women’s History Month that will take place on Thursday, March 21 at 4 PM. The conversation will cover books about women's history and books written by women. 
  • Create Your Own Bookmark: An in-person program happening on Wednesday, March 23 at 4 PM. Teens will have the opportunity to create bookmarks with a Women’s History Month theme.
