Since 1921, Columbia has been a proud part of the Inwood community through our athletics program and we provide community members access to the benefits of Baker Athletics Complex and Muscota Marsh in a variety of ways.

The complex is first and foremost home to 14 intercollegiate teams (seven women's teams and seven men's teams) and is the venue for practice and intercollegiate competitions for nine varsity sports. Community access is frequently scheduled around practice and game times at the facilities.

Every community benefit is outlined in this Baker Athletics Complex and Muscota Marsh Community Programs document, but northern Manhattan community members can find week-of track access on the Columbia Athletics website here. If you ever have specific questions about community user access to these facilities, you can email [email protected]

If helpful, here's a map of the Baker Athletics Complex as well as directions via a variety of transit options.

Here are some of the ways community members can access these Columbia facilities:

Lawrence A. Wien Stadium Track

Northern Manhattan community members are invited to use the track at times designated by the Baker Athletics Complex facilities team. Each week, the hours are updated on this website under "Track Access" to insure the most timely information is available.

Tickets to Games

All seats to Columbia Athletics games that take place at the complex are free of charge, with the exception of football. You can find the upcoming schedule of games here

Each year, 3,000 tickets to Columbia Football games are made available to community organizations expressing interest. You can find out how to request tickets under "Tickets to Games" at this website.

Northern Manhattan Neighbors Appreciation Day

Each year, Columbia Football hosts Northern Manhattan Neighbors Appreciation Day, when tickets to the football game are complimentary to the community.

This year's game will be held on October 8, 2022, when Columbia University takes on Wagner College at 1:00 p.m. You can find more information on how to redeem tickets here, under "Tickets to Games."

Dick Savitt Tennis Center

Residents of Northern Manhattan may purchase memberships at The Dick Savitt Tennis Center without sponsorship by current members. You can find more information here

Muscota Marsh

Muscota Marsh, formerly known as Boathouse Marsh, recently underwent major wetland restoration. Columbia is responsible for maintaining public access to the Harlem River through the Muscota Marsh East Dock, which was revamped and completed earlier this year, for small, non-motorized boats.

Facilities Rentals

Community-based organizations may rent facilities at Baker Athletics Complex at the "Columbia rate." You can find more information and who to contact about this under "Facilities Rental."

Columbia Camps

Scholarships are available for Northern Manhattan children to attend a variety of athletics summer camps at Columbia. More information about this benefit can be found here under "Columbia Camps" and by emailing [email protected]
