What is Happening

Columbia Business School

Site 7 (Western Site)

• Elevator trade has mobilized to site
• Plumbing and ductwork are in progress up to roof level
• Curtain wall installation is in progress on levels 3 through 11
• Urban layer glass is in progress
• Interior wall layout and framing is in progress up to level 10
• Overhead mechanicals is ongoing
• Rooftop equipment will be picked and set

Site 6B (Eastern Site)

• Concrete slab placed at elevator mechanical room
• Interior wall layout and framing is in progress up to level 5
• Exterior east elevation metal panel framing is installed up to level 6
• Curtain wall curbs and anchor installation are up to level 7
• Exterior wall panels installation is in progress on levels 3 through 5
• Riser shaft 4 ductwork and riser shaft 6 shaft wall are in progress
• Storm/sanitary piping is ongoing

• Rooftop equipment will be picked and set in late February

Below Grade Activity / W. 131st Street Utilities

• Domestic water, sanitary, and storm-piping is ongoing at all levels
• HVAC piping work is ongoing in sub-cellar levels 1 and 3; chilled water main and high-pressure steam piping in the utility tunnel are progressing to completion
• Air handling units at sub-cellar level 1 and W. 130th Street energy transfer room equipment are being hooked up with piping and ductwork
• Sprinkler system installation is in progress
• Fire alarm system installation is in progress
• Installation of masonry walls at ramp and sub-cellar level 3
• Top down wall construction on sub-cellar levels 1 and 2
• Concrete placement for equipment pads is ongoing
• The W. 130th Street energy transfer room equipment installation is ongoing
• Sheet metal ductwork in sub-cellar level 1 of Site 7 and Site 6B, and sub-cellar level 3 of W. 130th Street
• Ductwork risers are ongoing in mechanical shafts in Site 7 and 6B
• L1 Plaza drainage, waterproofing, and topping slab development work is on-going
• Block filler and floor sealant is ongoing 

W. 125th Street South Side Demolition

• Third submission of demolition plans was sent to NYC Department of Buildings  
• Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disconnects at the east wall at Prentis Hall and wall patching is ongoing.  Fire standpipe and steam line is to be cut and cap on Wednesday, February 5.
• The condenser unit at the warehouse roof at 3191 Broadway was removed along with its associated piping and the indoor AC unit

What to Expect

Construction Activity

• Regular weekday work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
• Material deliveries to site is ongoing

Temporary Traffic and Transportation Impacts

• Refer to street signage for the west side of Broadway from 129th to 130th Streets -- parking is allowed after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends
• W. 131st Street between Broadway and 12th Ave. is opened for one-way westbound traffic
