What is Happening

Columbia Business School

Site 7 (Western Site)

  • Exterior wall coordination is ongoing
  • Elevator trade has mobilized to site
  • Plumbing and ductwork are in progress up to roof level
  • Curtain wall installation is in progress on levels 3 through 11
  • Urban layer in progress
  • Interior wall layout and framing in progress up to level 10
  • Overhead mechanicals ongoing

Site 6B (Eastern Site)

  • Concrete slab placed up to level 9
  • Interior wall layout and framing is in progress through level 3
  • Exterior east elevation metal panels are installed up to level 8
  • Curtain wall curbs and anchor installation are up to level 6
  • Exterior wall panels installation is in progress on levels 3 and 4
  • Riser shaft 4 ductwork and riser shaft 6 shaft wall are in progress
  • Storm/sanitary piping ongoing

Below Grade Activity / W. 131st Street Utilities

  • Domestic water, sanitary, storm-piping and floor drains installation are ongoing on all levels
  • Sprinkler system installation is in progress
  • Fire alarm system installation is in progress
  • Installation of masonry walls at sub-cellar levels 1 and 3
  • The W. 130th Street energy transfer room equipment installation is ongoing
  • Sheet metal ductwork in sub-cellar level 1 of Site 7 and Site 6B, and sub-cellar level 3 of W. 130th Street
  • Ductwork risers are ongoing in mechanical shafts in Site 7 and 6B
  • L1 Plaza waterproofing work ongoing
  • Block filler ongoing 

W. 125th Street South Side Demolition

  • Department of Environmental Protection and Con Edison disconnects are ongoing

  • Review of the contractor’s demolition plans by the New York City Department of Buildings and Transit Authority is ongoing

Please note that all activities are subject to change based on weather and other field conditions.

What to Expect

Construction Activity

  • Regular weekday work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • Material deliveries to site is ongoing

Temporary Traffic and Transportation Impacts

  • Refer to street signage for the west side of Broadway from 129th to 130th Streets -- parking is allowed after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends
  • W. 131st Street between Broadway and 12th Ave. is opened for one-way westbound traffic
