What is Happening During the Next Two Weeks:

  • Installation of eastern ground floor slab
  • Mobilization of the superstructure contractor and delivery of the tower crane
  • Installation of tower crane pad
  • An excavator will be used to complete cleanup and backfill

Studebaker Building Façade Repairs and Roof Replacement

  • Pipe scaffolding installation is complete at the west elevation and the freight elevator tower.  Selective areas of terra cotta, concrete and brick piers will be demolished. Intermittent drilling, grinding noise and dust are expected mainly on the 6th floor. Noise level may be intense at times.
  • Terra cotta repairs will continue at the north parapet wall. Work is mostly quiet but occasional drilling is expected, mainly on the 6th floor.
  • Roof removal and replacement will begin at the stairwell bulkhead roofs at the northeast and northwest corners, south center bay, and at the freight elevator tower roof. Constant scraping noise is expected during removal, followed by mostly quiet work.
  • Starting the week of October 31, the pipe scaffolding on the south elevation will be removed.
