The coronavirus has placed a huge strain on food pantries. Nearly one-third of them in the five boroughs have already shut down as they struggle to feed the growing number of New Yorkers left jobless by the COVID-19 virus that has shuttered thousands of businesses. CCS Grantee New York Common Pantry is now using mobile meals to meet the needs of our food insecure neighbors. As a result, they were able to assist 5,000 local people since this pandemic began.
