Construction Update - Closure of West 131st Street Rescheduled for January 3-4

What is Happening

Due to inclement weather, the crane pick originally planned for December 27-28 has been rescheduled to January 3-4, pending necessary approvals. This work will require a full closure of West 131st Street (between Broadway and 12th Avenue) on Saturday, January 3 and Sunday, January 4 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to load materials onto the roof of the Studebaker Building. West 131st Street is anticipated to reopen on Sunday, January 4 at approximately 4:00 p.m. after the crane has been dismantled. 

Please note that all activities are subject to change based on weather and other field conditions.

 


 

What to Expect

  • Regular work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in accordance with all necessary permits.
  • West 131st Street (between Broadway and 12th Avenue) is anticipated to be fully closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, January 3 and Sunday, January 4 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Parking in front of the Studebaker Building (615 W. 131st Street) will not be available on Saturday, January 3 and Sunday, January 4.
  • West 131st Street will be closed to pedestrians around the Studebaker Building (615 W. 131st Street) on Saturday, January 3 and Sunday, January 4 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please use 130th or 132nd Streets for pedestrian access.
  • Expect noise and other impacts typically associated with construction projects.
