Construction Update - Closure of West 131st Street on February 21-22 and February 28-March 1

What is Happening

During the weekends of February 21-22 and February 28-March 1, West 131st Street (between Broadway and 12th Avenue) is anticipated to be fully closed to vehicular traffic between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. This street closure is required to set up a crane to load materials onto the roof of the Studebaker Building. West 131st Street is anticipated to reopen on Sunday, February 22 and Sunday, March 1 at approximately 4:00 p.m. after the crane has been dismantled.

What to Expect

  • Regular work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in accordance with all necessary permits.
  • West 131st Street (between Broadway and 12th Avenue) is anticipated to be fully closed to vehicular traffic during the weekends of February 21-22 and February 28-March 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Parking in front of the Studebaker Building (615 W. 131st Street) will not be available during the weekends of February 21-22 and February 28-March 1.
  • West 131st Street will be closed to pedestrians around the Studebaker Building (615 W. 131st Street) during the weekends of February 21-22 and February 28-March 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please use 130th or 132nd Streets for pedestrian access.
  • Expect noise and other impacts typically associated with construction projects.
