Columbia Reaches Another Agreement With Major Local Business In Manhattanville To Purchase Property

August 06, 2007

New York, Aug. 6, 2007—Joseph ("Nick") Zuhusky and Peter Zuhusky, brothers and owners of Despatch Moving and Storage, have reached an agreement with Columbia University to sell their 56,250 square foot storage warehouse located at 3243-47 Broadway. The property, located on the west side of Broadway between West 130th Street and West 131st Street, is within the boundary of Columbia University’s proposed long-term expansion in the old Manhattanville manufacturing zone of West Harlem.

While the business terms remain confidential, the Zuhusky brothers stated that Columbia acted in a professional and fair manner throughout the negotiations. Although the Zuhusky had not originally planned to sell the property, they said they are satisfied with the outcome and with Columbia’s understanding of their business needs.

Nick and Peter Zuhusky were part of a group that had initially pledged not to sell to the University. Along with Skyline Windows, Pearlgreen and New Roads Realty, Despatch becomes the fourth of six commercial property owners in that group with which Columbia has successfully negotiated agreements to purchase property on terms that satisfied all the parties.
