To respond to urgent food insecurity caused by the government shutdown, SNAP benefits cuts, and rising food prices, Community Impact at Columbia University is launching “Fill the Pantry Fridays.”
This weekly drive runs every Friday through the end of the year at Ford Hall (616 West 114th Street), rallying community members to donate essential dry foods and canned meats to replenish pantry shelves during this pivotal time.
Call to Action
- Needed Donations: Dry staples such as rice, pasta, powdered milk, and canned meats like tuna.
- Drop-Off Times: Every Friday, 12 pm to 2 pm, at Ford Hall, 616 West 114th Street
Monetary Donations: Financial contributions are also welcome and help stretch resources further. Donate Here.
Impact
Ford Hall Food Pantry currently serves over 300 families each week. Increased demand, fueled by disrupted SNAP benefits and economic pressures, will strain our supply without your help.
Why It Matters
Every donation to “Fill the Pantry Fridays” helps fight hunger and build resilience in the neighborhoods surrounding Columbia University, Barnard College, and all across New York City. Together, we can ensure that no family goes without nutritious essentials during this challenging period.
