Travis Love will focus on Pride Month in Harlem, and discuss the dynamics between health and wellness, and its connection to participation in civic life within the Harlem community and the City. Join them for an engaging presentation and conversation.
Travis Love is an alumni of the 2023 New Leaders Council for New York City. By shifting the narrative, he's been able to curate opportunities for meaningful dialogue with a passion for community engagement and research. Over the course of his professional and academic career he’s curated multiple projects with a focus on empowering underserved communities and developing and implementing innovative health education programs. Committed to promoting health equity and social justice, he’s interested in collaboratively creating sustainable change that center marginalized voices. As a Health Educator with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School his position provides him the opportunity to advocate for cultural competence within clinical spaces. Mr. Love received his MPH from Rutgers School of Public Health.
Cheryl Barclay is the Manager of Medicare Sales Education for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, where she has been employed for over 31 years. As a 500-hour E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with numerous advanced certifications, Cheryl has also been instructing yoga for over 13 years. As a certified Transformational Meditation Leader through Justin Michael Williams’ Dream Bigger Foundation, Cheryl also facilitates corporate and community Mindfulness and Empowerment workshops, which range from stress management and nervous system regulation tips and techniques to the neuroscience of presence, focus and energy flow, to eliminating the mental and emotional blocks that keep us in our comfort zones. Cheryl is excited to share some of the tools and practices that have supported her own ongoing growth journey, expanding her capacity to be of greater service to others.
