CRASEL stands for Culturally Responsive and Affirming Social-Emotional Leadership and is a collaboration/partnership with Community School District 5 (CSD5) and the Abyssinian Development Corporation.

Launch Celebration 

The CRASEL Expansion Project Team would like to invite you to a celebration filled with fun activities, culturally relevant learning materials, and complimentary refreshments on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10:00am - 2:00pm, at P.S. 175 Henry H. Garnet Schoolyard. 

The event features yoga lessons, massages, line dancing and much more.

About CRASEL

A federal government grant, sponsored by Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and Representative Espaillat in the amount of $1 million will support the CRASEL Expansion Project for 2 years, targeting students and adults at all 23 schools in Community School District 5. In addition, West Harlem Development Corporation provided initial funding for the pilot program and continues to support the expansion.

The CRASEL Expansion Project provides capacity-building SEL/Professional Development training to both adults (school and community-based) and students.

CRASEL Partners will deliver Social-Emotional Learning/PD training that covers mindfulness practices, emotional intelligence, self-care, and self-awareness practices, and an independent evaluation of the efficacy and progress of the CRASEL Expansion Project.
