Sidewalk Astronomy

Columbia crown made of stars, above an image of outer space

During the academic year, volunteers from Columbia Astronomy bring their portable telescopes into Harlem at the corner of 125th St and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd for Sidewalk Astronomy, a free night of stargazing for local residents. Sky lights are bright, but from there, residents are able to have a good view of the the Moon, planets, and occasionally some deep sky objects.
