The Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science, & Engineering is a public, sixth through twelfth grade school that opened in the fall of 2007. A partnership between the New York City Department of Education, the community, and Columbia University, CSS-MSE serves academically talented students who have an interest in a rigorous and demanding program focusing on math, science, and engineering. Columbia, in coordination with the School's guidelines, makes its libraries, computing facilities and other academic support facilities and services available to upper level students at CSS-MSE. Columbia also endeavors in good faith to make its faculty from existing campuses available to CSS-MSE's students. Columbia also provides curriculum support to the faculty of the School to ensure the highest level of education in math, science and engineering and continuing for a 25-year period from May 20, 2009.
