Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus will host this year’s Uptown Swing event on Saturday, June 29th. Jazz lovers, swing dancers and community members can enjoy the annual Harlem event from 1pm to 6:30pm in the small square outside of The Lenfest Center for the Arts at 615 W 129th Street. Special guests include, composer and bassist Andre Carvalho, Bossa Brazil, in addition to performances by West Harlem Cultural Group. Swing dance classes and other performances will take place, rain or shine. Admission is free and open to the public.
Just down the avenue, don’t miss Harlem Pride happening the same day as Uptown Swing. There will be two stages, live entertainment, dancing, and food. Come on out, bring your family and enjoy the festivities from 12-6pm at 135th Street off 12th Ave.
