Summer Youth Employment Program Town Hall with Manhattan Borough President Brewer

April 22, 2020
3:00 PM
Online

Please join a virtual Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Town Hall.

Discussion topics will include:

  • The importance of non-profits in supporting youth, particularly their socio-emotional needs. There needs to be some plan in place for what youth do over the summer, and non-profits must be a part of that plan.
  • The importance of SYEP to non-profits and the importance of non-profits to the city
  • The economic importance of SYEP, both to families (many of whom will be experiencing financial distress this summer) and to communities where money is spent in small businesses and supporting the local economy.
  • Where we are in the effort to save SYEP and a call to action – how to help save the program.

Panelists Include:

  • Sandino Sanchez, Children’s Aid Society
  •  Eddie Silverio, Catholic Charities
  • Dominique Jones, Harlem Boys and Girls Club
  • Wayne Ho, Chinese-American Planning Council
  • JT Falcone, United Neighborhood Houses

Moderated by:

  • Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer
