Pediatric Diversity Symposium

Brittany Packnett Cunningham—an activist, educator and writer who President Obama described as “a leader whose voice is going to be making a difference for years to come” is speaking at Alumni Auditorium at 8am. At 9:30am the symposium moves to the Wintergarden in the Children’s Hospital where there are advocacy activities around gun violence prevention and then a workshop around facing and overcoming biases in patient care. Finally, at noon there is lunch and a panel of experts including Mailman faculty and alum--Mark Canavera, Bob Fullilove, Wenimo Okoya and Caroline Volel, and the Director of Community Pediatrics, Dr. Dodi Meyer. The panel is “A Call to Action and Advocacy for Youth.”
