Event time is displayed in your time zone.

This event will elevate the discussion of parole supervision at an opportune time, as there are significant legislative proposals about reforming parole practices in New York State being considered this year — including the Less Is More Act. Speakers will lay out the problem of technical parole violations in New York, and offer concrete policy solutions based on research, lived experience, and examples from other jurisdictions. The forum will bring together prosecution and defense, practitioners who have run parole systems, and people with lived experience of parole supervision, to discuss this critical issue at this important time.

This event is co-sponsored by Columbia University Justice Lab, Independent Commission on NYC Criminal Justice and Incarceration Reform, New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), the NYSBA Task Force on the Parole System, and the American Bar Association.
