National Dance Institute (NDI) will host a free community event of dance and music with its first Dancemobile of the Summer. The NDI Dancemobile, which first premiered last year to bring live performances to parks throughout New York City, will once again celebrate dance and music in Jackie Robinson Park.
Sixteen NDI dancers from New York City public schools will perform choreography to songs by Stevie Wonder and Tina Turner. They will be accompanied by NDI musicians Ly Bedana (piano), Yakir Ben-Hur (bass) and Todd Keller (drums) and soul singer Greg Stamper. As part of the performance, NDI Teaching Artist Fiona Mills, original cast member of the off-Broadway Show STOMP, and NDI Teaching Artists/Choreographers Mary Kennedy and Elizabeth Sellner will guide the audience through an interactive dance class.
Two Performances will be at 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm
