Complimenting these items are the "Jazz Quilts" by Harlem artist Michael Cummings, whose craftsmanship was recently featured on PBS.

Cathedral of St. John the Divine - 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street
Following the kick-off of the Harlem Renaissance 100 Celebration here at St. John the Divine earlier this month there was also inaugurated here an exhibition highlighting the musical innovator and Harlem Hell-fighter regiment soldier and band leader James Reese Europe. The exhibit showcases through sheet music and memorabilia Europe's ragtime and syncopated jazz collaborations with the international dance couple Vernon & Irene Castle, along with items that touch on is World War I marches and jazz era influences.
