Student-led practice, in its various forms -- workshops, consulting engagements, studios, internships -- represents a central element of sustainability education at Columbia University. Yet its real-world impact is little understood.
The event represents the culmination of a study whose purpose was to gauge the real-world impact of such activities on client organizations, as well as the environment and society more broadly. A team of students from the Earth Institute's education programs, the Columbia Business School, and Architecture conducted the study. The event will feature a presentation of the student findings, followed by a panel discussion of student-led practice among Professors Bruce Usher, Richard Plunz, Sandra Navalli, Steve Cohen and other colleagues.
This event is sponsored by the Earth Institute, the MPA in Environmental Science and Policy, and the MS in Sustainability Management.
