As the holiday season approaches, please join your coworkers across Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) in helping to feed local residents in need.
The annual Helping Hands Food Drive, a partnership of Columbia University Irving Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian, will accept nonperishable food items. There is a high need for canned food, including soup, fruit, tuna fish, salmon, beans, vegetables, and meals (spaghetti, ravioli).
You can drop off nonperishable food items in bins located throughout the campus:
Allan Rosenfield Building lobby
Russ Berrie Medical Science Pavilion lobby
William Black Building lobby
School of Nursing Building lobby
Hammer Health Sciences Center Building, LL1
Milstein Hospital lobby
Parking Garage (Fort Washington Avenue & 164th Street)
All donations will be distributed by the Fresh Youth Initiatives' Helping Hands Food Bank (HHFB), which has been feeding thousands of people in the Washington Heights/Inwood community for the past 15 years. Each year, HHFB distributes more than 80,000 pounds of food. Its efforts provide much-needed food for our most vulnerable populations, especially during the holiday season.
We hope you will donate at least one can of food and encourage your coworkers to do the same. Your donation will help us provide assistance to those who need it most.
