CCS Toy Drive for Harlem and Morningside Heights

December 1, 2020 - December 17, 2020
Online

Now extended until December 17th! As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to donate to the annual Columbia Community Service Toy Drive. This initiative has been championed by the President's Office for many years and as a result, employees have donated thousands of new and unwrapped toys that have been distributed to local non-profits that provide services to youth and families with children. This year, due to the public health restrictions of COVID-19, we invite you to donate to one of the numerous organizations that have requested assistance. Your contribution will ease the burden for many families and put a smile on the face of a child.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some non-profits are requesting monetary donations in lieu of physical donations.

Donate a Physical Toy

Cathedral Community Cares' (CCC) mission is to combat and alleviate poverty through preventive services, education, and advocacy, specifically targeting the issues of health and hunger. The organization is serving about 400 - 450 bags every month. They are collecting toys for children aged 1-13 years Monday - Friday from 9AM to 6PM at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue.

Double Discovery Center at Columbia University needs your help to distribute at least 50 holiday boxes to their low-income and first-generation community youth.  Each Holiday Gift Box will contain food pantry items for a holiday meal and a gift that the children can enjoy. To support this effort, simply purchase a toy off of their Amazon wishlist and it will be shipped directly to their offices.

Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement (HCCI) helps Harlem residents by providing economic development and empowerment opportunities. HCCI will distribute as many as 500 toys at its 4th Annual ToyTopia! To assist their efforts, you can drop a toy off at 2785 Frederick Douglas Blvd. Call 212-281-4887 ext 200 for dates and times.
