CCS Grantee Event: Holiday Celebration with Children's Book Authors & Illustrators at Sugar Hill Children's Museum

December 15, 2019
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Off-campus Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art & Storytelling, 898 Saint Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10032
From a three-year old being wowed by Amy Sherald’s majestic portrait of former First Lady Michelle Obama at the National Portrait Gallery, to showing the infinite possibilities of what a simple pen and sketchbook can do, to a young girl empowering her community by opening her own museum, to the love and comfort a child receives when she isn't feeling well, children's book authors and illustrators are creating memorable worlds and moments for young minds to engage and cherish. Join authors and illustrators Parker Curry and Jessica Curry (Parker Looks Up: An Extraordinary Moment), Christopher Myers (My Pen), Zetta Elliott (Milo's Museum), Shannon Wright (My Mommy Medicine) and others as they read and discuss their work at a fun-filled and informative afternoon for kids, parents and all! This program is a collaboration with the NYU Institute of African American Affairs & Center for Black Visual Culture.

Please RSVP: nyuiaaa-cbvc-events@nyu.edu or (212) 998-IAAA (4222). Please make sure to state the event name and date in your email.
