You are invited to attend an academic panel discussion on transportation in New York City on Wednesday, April 12th from 9:00am-11:30 am in the 11th floor Auditorium of the New York Institute of Technology, 16 West 61st, New York, NY 10023. The panel discussion is part of the 2nd Annual Car Free Day initiative happening on Earth Day (April 22nd) in areas throughout New York City. This panel, hosted by University Transportation Research Center, will feature luminaries and experts on the city's transportation networks, including Nilda Mesa, Director of Urban Sustainability and Equity Planning at the Columbia University’s Earth Institute’s Urban Design Lab, as well as speakers from NYU, the City College of NY, the Regional Plan Association and New York City's Department of Transportation. NYC Council Transportation Chair and Founder of Car Free Day, Ydanis Rodriguez will also provide a keynote address. Panelists will consider the environmental and social impacts of how we move around the city, and will discuss how the City can make its transportation networks more safe, sustainable, and time-efficient.
