Columbia Neighbors: Black History Month 2024

The streets of Harlem are paved with stories of Black resilience. From the cultural, social, and political revolution known as the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Arts Movement—where creative expression was used as a means for activism—to the modern-day renaissance led by local entrepreneurs, social change agents, and creative visionaries, the community has served as the backdrop of where history was made and is in the making. In observance of Black History Month, Columbia Neighbors has curated a collection of stories that are interwoven into the fabric of Black history and culture Uptown.
