Project Overview
Retractable Bollard at Amsterdam Avenue
The entry gates to College Walk are largely ornamental, typically used on rare occasions to manage access to the campus. Recent University events have led to the need to restrict vehicular access along College Walk, and necessitated a more serviceable means of providing access to this area of campus.
The automated traffic-control system of retractable bollards was installed by creating new footings at the Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue entrances to College Walk. Three automatic bollards are positioned at both vehicular entries of College Walk while one manually operated bollard is located at each of the pedestrian gates.
